Description

This original, extremely realistic Viennese “Kaisersemmel” is not only suitable as an amusing table decoration, but it can also be used as a butter/mustard dish or similar.

Using a traditional process stretching back 300 years, the “Augarten Porcelain Manufactory” in the heart of Vienna produces the finest tableware and exquisite decorative objects by hand. Even Emperor Franz Joseph I had to eat breakfast to start the day off right and he was particularly fond of a fresh crisp “Semmel.” These white Viennese bread rolls were distributed in every town on August 18th to mark the occasion of his birthday. Semmel and other baked specialties were made from porcelain as whimsical decorations for the imperial table. “Augarten Porcelain” has revived this tradition and added this deceptively realistic Kaisersemmel dish to its range.
