Medallion Emilie
Portrait of Emilie Flöge
Description
The medallion of Gustav Klimt’s masterpiece “Bildnis Emilie Flöge” (“Portrait of Emilie Flöge”) — on a stamp behind glass — can be worn as a necklace but also used as a key ring. Emilie Flöge was undoubtedly the most important partner in Gustav Klimt’s life and a woman who proved herself to be the freedom-loving artist’s equal. Her portrait is one of the most famous and valuable paintings in the Wien Museum’s collection.
Sophie Stieber lives and works in Vienna, spent many years studying art history, and founded the label “Sophie Soufflé” in 2010. It all started with a gift idea — she made a bangle and a bowl out of an old record. These were followed by purchase offers and many more upcycling designs. Over the course of the past few years, she has specialized in making medallions with stamps, together with her partner Maximilian.
